Under-18 Policy (No minors allowed)

Talk-WeListen LLC (“Talk-WeListen,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides non-clinical, human-to-human conversation services for adults. Because minors require specialized support and heightened legal protections, we do not provide services to individuals under the age of eighteen (18) under any circumstances.

This policy is designed to protect the wellbeing of minors and safeguard users, families, and our mediators.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to purchase or participate in any Talk-WeListen session or package.

We do not serve minors age 17 or younger. This applies even if:

  • a parent or guardian provides consent,

  • a parent or guardian is present,

  • a session would be recorded, or

  • the minor requests the service independently.

 

2. Reason for This Policy

Talk-WeListen offers non-clinical communication support and is not a mental-health, therapeutic, or crisis service. Conversations with minors may raise issues that legally and ethically require clinical expertise, including but not limited to:

  • emotional distress,

  • family conflict,

  • bullying or abuse,

  • self-harm or harm to others,

  • safety concerns,

  • diagnostic-level issues, and

  • mandatory reporting obligations.

Supporting minors in these areas falls outside our scope of practice and could place the minor, their family, and our mediators at risk.

 

3. Mandatory Reporting for Minors

Because child safety laws impose stricter mandatory-reporting standards for minors, any discussion involving:

  • abuse,

  • neglect,

  • endangerment,

  • sexual activity,

  • threats of self-harm or harm to others, or

  • unsafe home environments

would legally require immediate reporting to law enforcement or child protective services.

As a non-clinical service, we are not equipped to manage these obligations in a manner consistent with regulatory standards for minors.

 

4. No Exceptions

To preserve safety and uphold best practices:

  • We do not accept parental waivers or signatures.

  • We do not allow minors to join sessions with a parent present.

  • We do not record sessions with minors or conduct consented recordings.

  • We do not operate under a “shared” or “supervised” model of mediation for minors.

Exceptions are not permitted under any circumstances.

 

5. Referral Support

If a parent or guardian contacts us seeking services for a minor, we will provide general referral information for:

  • licensed mental-health professionals,

  • school counselors,

  • youth support organizations,

  • community resources, or

  • crisis services (e.g., 988 in the U.S.).

We do not endorse or guarantee the services of any specific provider.

 

6. Affirmation of Age Requirement

By booking a session, purchasing a package, or interacting with our service, you affirm that you:

  • are at least eighteen (18) years of age,

  • are using an authorized payment method, and

  • understand that Talk-WeListen services are strictly for adults.

We reserve the right to cancel sessions, deny service, or request age verification if we believe a user may be under 18.
